Legacy of the Nightwalkers
We're everywhere. You just don't know it. Stupid Humans. You think you rule this world with your democracy, with your wars and your one-upmanship. You really have no clue do you? We're in charge. We always have been. We always will be. We are the fatemakers. We are the desicion makers. We are the wrath and the fury, the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end. We...are...Vampires
There are 4 Vampire Clans and 4 Social Classes within Vampire society
Malkavian - The Malkavian clan. The socialites. The Rich among the Rich. To be sired among this class almost guarentees you power, fame and anything you desire. They rule, and they make a point of reminding others of that
Toredor - The Middle class. To be a Toredor is to live an average life as a Vampire. You earn your keep, but are respected in return because of it. You can expect either a comfortable life if you do what you are told, or a harder one if you do not. But even those who live a hard Toredor life have it easier than the other two lower clans
Sanguine - The Lowest of the classes. They must work hard for what they want, and even then there is no guarentee they will even get it. Some Sanguine are respected, but most are treated no better than slaves or dogs. If a Sanguine causes trouble then there is a decent chance they will simply be executed rather than be given a trial or a second chance
Nosferatu - Nosferatu represents two things. For those who are actually of the Nosferatu clan, they can expect little respect at the best of times, even by the lowest of the Sanguine. They hold a much more feral appearance, and it is reflected in how they operate. They tend to be kept by some Malkavians as guard dogs, and treated like them too. Because of their feral nature they tend to operate on instinct. A Nosferatu that can speak is very rare
The other side to the clan are the rebels. They are labeled alongside the Nosferatu due to the fact they are outsiders. For example, a Toredor rebel would be called a Toredor Nosferatu. Few rebels ever warrent redemption, but it has been known to happen, though usually if they are in the upper eschelons of Toredor or the lower parts of Malkavian society. The rest can expect a bounty on their heads with varying sizes dependent on the crime
Social Classes
The Old Ones - Ah The Old Ones. These Vampires are those who are 800 years old and above. They have many a lifetime of experience behind them, and are naturally highly powerful, and most have learned a few tricks which they keep to themselves. There is a slim to none chance that a Vampire will ever be sired by an Old One. They make up a fraction of the Vampire population, but they are the ones who rule it
The Median - Vampires ranging from 300 to 800 years old. Most Vampires who can get past the 300 mark are respected for being able to live that long. They might have one or two tricks up their sleeves but they aren't nearly as powerful as the Old Ones. They make up a slim proportion of the Vampire population
The Younglings - Younglings range from 100 to 300 years old. It is rare that they have learned any exceptional tricks, but they are still more powerful than the Newborn. They make up a chunk of the Vampire population
The Newborn - The newborn range from those who have been freshly Sired to those who are approaching their 100th birthday. They tend to gain in power as they grow, but there power is laughable compared to older Vampires. Nevertheless, they are still more powerful than Humans
Vampire traits
Stronger, faster, more agile and more enduring than the average Human being
Better eyesight and hearing
Naturally sped up healing process (a cut would take an afternoon to heal rather than a few days)
Thirst for blood. Any blood will technically do, even their own, but the thirst for Human blood is the strongest
Sunlight can burn their sensitive skin easily so they tend to have to cover up, but they can be in Sunlight
Pure water burns them on contact, much like boiling water would to a Human. If it is impure then it can be consumed/bathed in with no trouble (e.g Tea, Coffee, Herbal Tea)
A stake through the heart will not kill them immediately, but will cause severe bloodloss as would any blow to a Human heart. They will only survive if they drink enough blood to replenish themselves, usually involving drinking a Human dry
Decapitation is instant death and cannot be recovered from
They cannot enter a building that a Human lives in without being invited in. Some of the Old Ones have found ways to circumvent this rule
Holy artefacts such as religious symbols can repel them, but only so much. The more artefacts there are compared to Vampires, the stronger the effect to a point. The more Vampires there are compared to the artefact, the weaker the effect until it becomes useless
Vampires cannot become pregnant or impregnate a Human (though they can still have sex)
Vampires you should watch out for
The Great Old Ones - Even within the Old Ones there are those that are more powerful. The Great Old Ones are a small group of Malkavian Vampires who rule, some of which were sired by Dracula himself. They command fear and respect, even among the other Old Ones. To defy one of them means certain death. If you have caused a massive problem, most usually to do with Vampire exposure to Humans, and a Great Old One comes to deal with you, then you know you will be made to suffer. All Vampires know who they are, but don't necessarily know what they look like
The Shai'en rebel group - A group of elite Rebels. They might try and recruit you. It is their sole purpose to take down the Great Old Ones. Some of them wish to do it to rule, others because they want Anarchy
The Humankind - Not strictly a group, these are Vampires who try and act Human. They don't drink Human blood and they try to be Human as best they can
