The Asylum
Prologue- The boy
Dr. Watts, head of an asylum for the criminally insane in Pennsylvania, sat at his desk and sighed, it had been a long day and he had one more patient to question and admit to the institute. A boy was this patient and the last patient he would ever see. A knock sounded on his door.
“The boy is here” said a deep voice on the other side.
“Ah yes… bring him in” Dr. Watts said.
A police man opened the door and escorted a boy bound in chains in. Dr. Watts was confused. This boy was no more than 9, and yet what he did was really him. The boy sat down looking Dr. Watts in the eyes with a look that spelled no innocence.
“Do you know why you are here boy?” Dr. Watts said
The boy nodded his black hair staying still despite how long it was, “Yes I do.” The boy smirked “I killed a lot of people and it was fun.”
“How old are you?” Dr. Watts leaned forward
“Eight,” the boy said
Watts flinched, he knew this boy was young but only eight? He would’ve expected 10 at least to commit such an act. “Why did you kill your whole family?”
The boy got a dark look and glared at Dr. Watts. For the first time Dr. Watts noticed the kids eyes, they were green with an outer layer of red in them. “You wouldn’t understand Doctor Watts.”
“I am here to try and understand if youll let me.” The boy shook his head and laughed
“You want to understand?” he said with menace in his voice.
“Yes I do.”
“Then you’d need to die.” The police officer that escorted the boy in got wide eyes as a chain went through his head. The officer fell to the ground dead instantly.
The boy walked towards Dr. Watts “Leave me alone!” Dr. Watts screamed but to no avail.
“You said you wanted to understand.” Chains entered Dr. Watts body and started tearing him up from the inside out. When someone checked on them all that was left was a room coated in blood and the eight year old boy looking at the two torn up bodies of the officer and Doctor.
That was eight years ago.
That boy was me…

Part 1 Chapter 1- The girl on the other side

At least that what they told me... truth is I don't remember any of it. I find it odd... you'd think id remember killing 22 people when I was eight. Yet I don't. I guess it don't matter, all that matters is I'm here for the rest of my life, inside this Asylum. I make the best of it though.
Everyday I get a two hour recess and lunch, most the time I would eat then sit on one of the benches ignoring everyone else around. Today was different though... there was a blond haired girl wearing a Lolita Goth dress on the other side of the fence looking in at me. I blinked thinking I was seeing things but she was still there. I was curious not many people, let alone girls, hung out near this place. I got up and walked over to the fence. "What are you doing here?" I asked curiously
She looked at me, instantly I was caught in those ocean blue eyes of hers. She shrugged "Just exploring I guess"
"Around an Asylum for the criminally insane? It’s dangerous here." I said laughing a bit.
"You guys can’t get out right?"
"True" I said looking around.
"You can’t be no more than 16 why are you there?" She looked at me with a puzzled face
"When I was eight I supposedly killed 22 people and had said it was fun although I have no memory of it."
"I think I should be scared of you" she said
"Nah like you said I can’t get out, by the way I’m geode" I said holding my hand out of the fence being careful not to touch it because it’s electrified.
"Juliet" She said and shook my hand.
“Soooo exploring?”
“Mhm” She laughed a bit “Are you sure you have no memory of killing those people?”
“Yeah I don’t know WHY I don’t remember though.”
Then I saw a boy with blackish-blue hair and wearing gothic clothing. “Who’s that?” I asked pointing towards the boy.
“That’s my brother!” Juliet said quickly and hid behind a huge rock “Don’t say I’m here” she whispered
“Why not?” I asked curiously
“He’s too protective of me if he sees me hanging out here… he will freak out.”
“Makes sense it’s an As-“
“JUST DON’T TELL HIM!”
I nodded and stayed quiet. The boy walked over to me “Hey Insane kid have you seen a girl wearing a-“
“No. And just because you called me ‘Insane kid’ I won’t help you ever jerk.”
The boy growled “Fine!” He left and when he was out of sight Juliet got out of her hiding spot
“Thanks”
“No problem Jules”
“Jules? I like it” she smiled a bit “Call me that from now on ok?”
“Ok, why is your brother so mean by the way?”
“We-“
“FOUND YOU!” The boy had come back and he had an ‘Im so totally pissed’ look on his face
“D-dason…” Juliet looked down
“Come on you shouldn’t be hanging out here! These people are dangerous!”
“Bu-“
“NO BUTS!” Dason dragged her away and she waved bye to me.
“Bye!” I called and got a look from Dason that said ‘Grr’

The Immortals Part 1 The Asylum Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Immortals Part 1 The Asylum    The Immortals Part 1 The Asylum Icon_minitimeThu Nov 18, 2010 3:07 pm

Crying came from the house at 403 South Street late at night. Usually it was a nice silent house with well behaved children but that would all change. Ginger Adams and John Adams were dead in the living room. Their blood painted the walls and ceiling the rest of their family were dead in their rooms. Except for one girl, the one who was crying, calling for her brother who disappeared during the killings. She would remember none of it though; just that she wants her brother and no one else.

Chapter 2- Have Faith
When the boy took Juliet away I had to go back inside. I hated the trip to my room, I always did. The reason was that the halls were so freaking bright that they blinded you, my room, however, was a different story entirely. You see as patients in an asylum you were allowed to decorate your room with posters, models of things like dragons, army vehicles, and things like that, and, in very rare cases, decorative weapons like swords, daggers, and antique guns. My room was painted black and I had skull posters all over the wall. I also had a flat screen TV and a very comfortable bed. I flipped on the tv and laid on my bed. Soon enough I was asleep.
***
My sleep did not last long though; soon after I fell asleep there was a knock at my door that woke me up. I looked at the clock to see it was midnight, *Odd* I thought, *the doctors never visit me this late…* “Come in” I said groggily
A doctor I knew all too well entered the room with his usual brown overcoat and his white undershirt that was as white as the Asylum halls. This man was Doctor Stevens; he took over after I supposedly killed Dr. Watts. For the past eight years he would visit me every day and ask if I remembered anything about the day I killed Dr. Watts, I never did, but he had already visited today so I didn’t expect him to be the one that woke me up.
I looked up at him, he had brown eyes mainly but there was a bit of green in them. “Dr. Stevens… why are you visiting me so late?”
“I have something for you to see Geode, Do not interact though until I tell you.” Dr. Stevens led me down the halls to his office and a door next to it “Go to the observation room there’s a small window that can see into my office”
I nodded and walked into the second door that led to a stone grey room with a small window that went into Dr. Stevens’ office. I went and looked through the window to see him. Nothing happened at first then I heard, “Come in” And knew there was a microphone in the room somewhere and that someone had knocked on his door.
I did not expect who it was though.
I expected a grown man or woman kicking and screaming and swearing at the guard and doctor but no, the image I got was totally different it was…
It was a little girl no more than five wearing a bloody white dress with two tears in the back, she was crying a lot but not kicking and screaming, if she wasn’t crying I’d say she looked… calm.
“Faith Adams. That’s your name right?” Dr. Stevens asked the girl.
The girl, I now knew as Faith, nodded “Yeah…” she looked around carefully “Where’s my brother?”
“Your brother was never found at the scene.” Dr. Stevens said “Listen Faith why did you kill your family?”
“My Family is dead?! I didn’t do it there’s no way… I would remember…”
“I know” Dr. Stevens said “You have no memory of it just as I thought. Geode come in.”
I blinked and went out the door of the observation room and went to Dr. Stevens’s office. “Sit” Dr. Stevens said and I did. “This is Geode” he said to Faith “He is very similar to you, witnesses even reported the same glowing red eyes from you both at the times of your crimes. ”
Faith stayed silent and I could tell something was wrong, a cruel smiled spread across her face and I saw a red glow from her eyes. I blinked “Dr. Stevens are you seeing this?” I asked him and he nodded
She looked up as bloody white-feathered wings burst out of her back, she laughed a cruel high pitched laugh that no five year old should even be able to reach; her nails grew into sharp claws and blood dripped from her hair.
I backed away out of instinct and so did Dr. Stevens. Faith stepped on the desk and walked towards Dr. Stevens.
She smiled.
“What are y-” Before Dr. Stevens finished blood spouted from his neck and Faiths long nails were covered in blood
“So pretty…” she said smiling as if in total bliss. Then she turned to me, “You are like me.”
“Huh?” I asked
“You aren’t your other side right now, hmph pity.” She moved in a blur and I was immediately plunged into Darkness.
***
I woke up in a bed; I recognized this as an infirmary bed immediately. I felt around myself and noticed stitches in my stomach and neck. I slowly rose up out of the bed and rubbed where the stitches were. They hurt, meaning they were fresh. I sighed and walked weakly over to the door. A doctor came in before I opened it “Geode, you need to lay back down you are too hurt to be walking” he said
“Who are you… and what happened?”
“You don’t remember? Faith Adams attacked you and Dr. Stevens she doesn’t remember anything though.”
“Dr. Stevens is he…”
“No he barely survived though and will be out of commission for a while in the mean time I will take over.”
“What’s your name again?”
“Dr. Steven Walsh”
“Nice to meet you doctor.”
“Likewise now you should lay down”
“I’d rather go to my room thank you.” I said and stumbled back to my room. When I got there I crashed on my bed and stared at the ceiling thinking about Faith of course it wouldn’t be long before I saw her again, actually it was sooner than I expected…
A doctor entered my room “Geode we don’t have enough space and we would like to know if you minded a roommate.”
“Nah I don’t mind” I said “Who is it”
“Not sure but you’ll see when they get here” she walked out
A half an hour I saw something unexpected.
A five year old girl entered my room and set her belongings in a corner.
She looked at me, her eyes completely innocent she smiled “Hi Geode I’m Faith.”

Chapter 3 teaser! Razz XD

Hiding in the shadows of an alleyway in Philadelphia, a boy watched as cars passed by, noting the amount of cop cars on the street most likely looking for him. After the cars had passed he snuck out of the alley onto teh sidewalk among the few pedestrians there. Having been on the run for months he knew better than to not be alert, his dull green eyes darted around taking in every detail carefully. Occasionally he brushed his brown hair out of his line of vision. After this, he thought, I'm getting a haircut. The boy pulled his Carhartt Jacket closer to himself as a winter breeze nipped at him through his light clothing. That's when it happened. While his attention was focused on staying warm, a police man had spotted him. He heard the buzz of the radio as the police man contacted the force and immediately spun around to see a police man behind him. He didn't wait a second he turned and darted down the street. Because of how smart this boy was he made things work in his favor. Unfortunately for him things wouldnt work out tonight, a police man rounded a corner and grabbed his arm twisting it and there was a loud audible crack from the boys shoulder. "Got you" The cop smirked and threw him in the back of a police cruiser...

Chapter 3- The Arsonist of 36th Street
I looked out the window of the police car as it passed where I was headed. Damn, I thought to myself, so close to safety, or at least being hidden for the night. I guess it wasn’t meant to be.
“You gave us quite a run there” The policeman that had captured me said, “We’ve been hunting you down for months and now we got ya.” He laughed a bit “George, the small town teenager turned arsonist, the media will be focused on you for a few days after I get you to the police station”
That’s not happening, I thought, I have my ways of getting free. As I thought these thoughts I felt a familiar heat rise up in my body. “Yes, I definitely have my ways” I mumbled to myself rubbing my hands together.
“What are you mumbling about back there?”
“Nothing officer, just talking to myself” I said cleverly and believably, I had to reassure him there was nothing sinister in my thoughts.
“Alright be quiet back there” He kept focusing on the road. I had to work now or else it would be too late. I rubbed my hands together faster as they heated up to temperatures any regular human would be burned at. I found out a few months ago I wasn’t, in fact, a regular human; I had a power, a very special power at that, the power to control fire. I didn’t plan on the aftereffects of knowing about my power though.
A few months ago I was walking around the city, happy as can be I had finally gotten into the school that I wanted to get into and was with my girlfriend, things were looking up. Then I found my power. Unfortunately a few days later when I was staying over at my friend’s house, my power surfaced with a will of its own. I woke up to screaming and the house burning down to the ground, I was surrounded by flames yet none hurt me. I walked out of the building to see firemen everywhere and one thing I did not want to see, my friend was on a stretcher, he wasn’t breathing. No one seemed to see me so I ran, all the way to my girlfriend’s house. I knocked fast “Rachel!” I yelled and she came to the door and hugged me
“Oh my god! I thought you were in that fire! I’m so glad you are all right”
“Rachel… I was the cause of that fire. I’ll explain…” we went to the living room and watched the news which showed the fire live. I explained everything about my power and how I had a dream about setting everything on fire last night.
She listened intently to the whole story then talked, “I don’t know what to make of this” she finally said after five long minutes “You have a superpower you can barely control?” she said almost slowly
I nodded “Yes and I think it may have killed my friend… what do I do?”
“I’m not good at this sort of thing… it’s kind of… different than a regular problem.” She said then gently kissed me “Sleep on it ok? I’ll think of a solution or at least search this up online to see if there have ever been myths about a fire starter or something like that”
“Thanks Ray” I smiled a bit she was so smart when it came to problems that we had. She kissed me good night and I laid on the couch and gently dosed off, only to be awakened at the appearance of the fire. The house was up in flames and I looked around for Rachel but didn’t find her; I made my way out and escaped. Thinking I might have completely obliterated her I went on a rampage on 36th street. It was more emotion filled than anything I have ever done I burnt house after house. The people who saw me quickly called the police, before I knew it I was on the run. And now I was captured.
The thought snaps me out of memory lane and I rub my hands together again. Alright, I think, this is it. I place my hands against the door wincing as my bad shoulder spasms a bit causing jets of pain to course through my arm. I ignored them because my strategy relied on quickness and the ability to withstand pain. I released all the heat I felt at the door and it blew off, before the officer could react I jumped out staggering a bit before I caught my balance and ran. The police station was close to the outskirt of town, seeing that I was almost there my logical choice was to run out of the city and hide in a ditch, so that’s what I chose.
I noticed the cop starting to recover from the shock so I gave him another one. His gas tank blew up him and his car went with it. After watching the car blow I ran and hid in a ditch. Here I would wait till morning, I wouldn’t go back to the city though I would continue going on out here for quite a while. Watching the clouds roll by from my spot in the ditch I was calmed. I fell asleep.
***
I woke up in the morning with a light blanket of snow covering me. I shivered, wishing my fire activated last night so I’d be warm. No cars passed by as I cautiously got up, that’s good I didn’t want to be caught again. I stood and ran further form the city ducking undercover when a state patrol car went by. Eventually I made it to some woods by an asylum. Not the best place but it suited its purpose, I’m safe from the police for now. Walking deep into the woods I spot a cabin.
I can tell someone lives there so I walk up to it and knock.
The door opens and standing there is a stunningly beautiful blond haired girl with blue eyes wearing a Lolita dress.
“May I help you?” she asked with a sickly sweet and innocent voice.
“May I stay here? I have nowhere to go…”
“Yes but excuse my brother he’s a jerk sometimes” she smiled sweetly and walked in.
I went in after her.

Chapter 4- Friendship Reborn in Blood
Of all the things that could possibly happen to me, the most unexpected one decides to make its appearance in my life. It has been a month since I was invited into a log cabin by a very, very beautiful blond haired girl. Yeah one month of freeloading off of a hot chick, nothing better than that! Anyway, Juliet helped me out on a lot of things, the main one getting over Rachel, who I had killed in my second loss of control with my powers. Another one of the things she helped with was controlling my powers.
How would she know I had powers? I told her, duh; after all she had let me stay here. Turns out she had powers too. She had powers over Ice and just basically taught me everything she knew about controlling them. We quickly became friends soon after.
Lately though, I’ve gotten a bad vibe from her and her blue haired brother, named Dason. Dason was a guy that never was in a good mood, and I mean never. For instance I bet if this guy won the lottery he wouldn’t be happy. He must be a scrooge.
So here I am, in a log cabin, in the middle of a forest, with people I didn’t know till a month ago. Oh and I forgot to mention, there’s a little five year old here too. Luke Adams is his name. He has black hair and stunning blue eyes. I had to remind myself to watch any girlfriends around him when he gets older. Girls are such suckers for blue eyes like his.
This morning I was watching the news, all the hype of the ‘Arsonist of 36th street’ was wearing down, I was probably still wanted but as far as I’m concerned I could get a change of clothes and head out once again. I probably would too but I promised Juliet I’d stay for Christmas, which was a week away. It was also the first Christmas without my family and my first Christmas on the run. It’s kinda like the world said “Merry Christmas! You get a set of powers you don’t want and a life on the run!” Worst. Present. Ever.
Juliet came and sat by me “Hey George,” she started, “Dason asked me to ask you if you can meet him on the outer edge of the forest.”
If there is ever an odd sentence that I’ve ever heard it is definitely that one. “Why?” I asked slowly. You see my thought process is; *Dason wants to meet me on the edge of the forest? There are three things that could happen there: he can kill me, he can kick my ass, or he can kick my ass then kill me.* I definitely didn’t like those options.
“He’s not going to hurt you” Juliet said as if she was reading my mind, “He just needs to show you something.”
“Oh… ok” I said still a bit suspicious. I got up “I guess I’ll go meet up with him then.” I went to the door before she stopped me once more and gave me a Lego fire sword like thing. “What’s this?”
“That answer will come when you most need it.” She said in an ominous way.
I looked at her for a second before slipping it in my pocket and going out of the cabin. I wasn’t one to judge but I think Juliet had a screw loose or something, I mean a lego sword?! Like that’s gunna protect me from Dason. I sighed slightly as my steps crunched on the light snow covered ground; I’d better be prepared for anything.
“Hey George” Dason said as soon as he saw my walk up to him, “you seem a little down.” He stated simple.
“I’m not, why did you want me out here?” I asked.
“I wanted to show you something” he said pulling me towards a clearing and covered my mouth as I saw a figure.
My eyes widened, this figure looked familiar. She stood at five-foot-eight, had brown hair, and was wearing the same outfit that I last saw her in. Rachel! She was alive! But then I noted that she was behaving oddly, kind of like an animal on the hunt for something. Then I saw her eyes… they were red instead of her blue-grey.
“Is that the girl you supposedly killed?” Dason whispered and I nodded as he removed his hand from my mouth. “She has been at this exact spot for the past three days. And she looks oddly like a vampire.”
“Vampires don’t exist… do they?”
Dason looked like he had to think about it for a minute, “Of course not, that’s ridiculous.” He had said that in a way that made me think that vampires don’t exist but something else does and he isn’t telling me what.
“I have to talk to her” I ran towards the clearing before he could stop me. “Rachel” Her eyes locked on mine and I felt cold fear.
“Who are you?” She asked taking a stance that suggested I had better be ready to defend myself.
The question struck me hard in the heart, she don’t remember me. “Its me, your boyfriend, George.”
“Don’t ring a bell” she said looking coldly at me.
“It-” I never got further I had blacked out from some unseen force.
***
I woke up in a clearing, my head was foggy and I couldn’t think. Where was I? What happened? That is when I noticed the pain in my neck. “Ow…” I said rubbing my neck and feeling something warm there. “What the?” I looked at my hand and saw it covered in blood.
“You are finally awake?” The voice nearly made me jump out of my sock shoes and pants. Rachel was sitting by me smiling a bit. “You know, you never run out of blood that’s very interesting to me.”
I looked at the ground where my head was just at and saw a pool of blood “How long has my neck been bleeding?” I asked a bit panicked.
“Oh about 2 hours” she said casually
“2 Hours?! Did it ever occur to you that that should NOT happen?”
“Nope, you looked fine to me”
She was nuts! Well she was nuts before now but now she’s off the handle! “I was bleeding!”
“And?”
“People DIE from bleeding”
“And?”
“People Definitely DIE from bleeding from one wound for two straight hours”
“If you are dead you are doing a very bad job at it”
I laughed. I couldn’t help it, despite how bad it’s supposed to be that was funny. Then I saw her smile slightly.
“I like you” she said “Lets be best friends” She smiled and took a rag to my neck where the wound was to clean it, then licked it. I gasped a bit as it closed quickly stinging a bit but other than that it was good as new.
Things slowed down a bit for me though. *Happy moment cut short.* I thought as a blue beam of light shot at me at colossal speed hitting me squared in the chest. My vision went out and my body wouldn’t respond to my brain’s signals.
“Bag up these two imperfects” I heard a distinctly male voice say before I blacked out completely.
